Subject: Our Wedding
Jill, I sincerely can not thank you enough for capturing all these special moments for us...I just couldn't wait to share it with the world!! The kids were so excited looking through all of them... you are so talented and such a special person and friend!!

Tennille Robinson Lasley 1980-2010 You Are Our Angel Now!
In honor of her birthday WEEK and since she is definitely in heaven dropping down the snow flurries all over Texas and Oklahoma.... I had to post this a few days early!
No excuses... I have been emotionally unable to open and view these files since Tennille passed away in April. I went through the photos and others from her childhood to create a slideshow for her memorial, but after that I couldn't bare it any more. To this day and forever, I will ask God why a gorgeous, brilliant, promising, loving nurse, mother, daughter, wife and friend was taken to heaven at the tender age of 30. I cannot understand it, and it has taken it's toll on me. When we first met, Tennille was inquiring about wedding photography services for her wedding. I asked when she'd like to get together. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined forming such a strong bond with a person I barely knew and with her family. I quickly learned of her condition. A brain tumor that she had been bravely fighting for years, was back. I never once saw her cry, never saw her scared, never saw fear in her eyes. She was always hopeful, optimistic. We'd make plans for the future and chat about what we'd do first when she kicked this cancer's butt. The tale is all too common - in this battle cancer won. Tennille was taken on the wings of angels to heaven in April 2010. I was there to bring in her Dirty 30! Which she said couldn't be that dirty since she couldn't drink YET. But, as soon as she was well, we were going to have a re-do! We went to eat at a Cuban restaurant because it turns out my girl loved latin food! We laughed and joked around and shared stories from our past. In the hospital, I told her that when I get to heaven we are going to party like rock stars and blow the place up. She grabbed my hand so tight and said YES! I knew she was still there in spirit - but her physical body was being depleted. I am grateful the Lord brought me Tennille and her amazing family into my life. I haven't been able to stay in touch just yet because I am still not able to speak without breaking down. I think of you everyday Tennille! I think of your gorgeous son Dylan and what an amazing man he will become and how proud he will make his momma. I think of your grandchild (that's right - I know you are laughing right now old lady!). I think of Charles and how the love I saw him have for you is a love I have never and probably never will see again. I saw the world's most strong and dedicated parents watch their baby girl fight. I can't say anything excpet that I wish I could have stuck my hand in there and pulled that tumor out. But, after all is said, I am so grateful you got your wonderful, beautiful and perfect wedding. No one deserved it more! My love is always with you TT. Always!
Thank you to all the amazing families and couples who have trusted us to capture their special memories. I have fallen behind at times this year, but can truly say I have the most patient and kind clients in the world! In 2010, we will expand our operation by hiring, finally, a studio assistant. We will also be running several AWESOME specials throughout the year. Check back here often for more details!

I took maternity photos for my dear friend Yesenia. I have to admit a deep dark secret...I get SUPER nervous photographing friends and family. I try to think of them as customers and put aside our history, but I just can't. I get performance anxiety. So, needless to say, when Yes came over for a studio maternity session, I was shaking. The photos turned out amazing and I was thrilled to email her a sample.
Here is her reaction to the one sample I sent:

It has been a crazy year already. My youngest has RSV for the 2nd time this year. And, my middle son was hospitalized with RSV just a few weeks ago. Never a dull moment I tell you. Anyways, I just received this in my inbox and it made my day, week, month and certainly made my Valentine's Day!
I shot (that never sounds right when I read it back to myself, but you know what I mean) Lisa's family in Miami and she just emailed me the comments below.
"I just want you to know that this has been the best “present” I have given myself and my husband who hates taking pictures even said that he was very glad we went through you because you clearly captured the love of our family. So I just wanted to let you know that."

Thanksgiving has come and gone and soon Christmas will be upon us. I cannot believe how quickly 2008 has flown by. This time last year I was 8.5 months pregnant and still photographing families up until my water broke! I love what I do, and I don't let anything get in the way. ;)
It is because of YOU, the amazing, loving, compassionate and trusting families, that Live.Love.Laugh. Photography continues to grow and prosper. I could have never imagined that I would not only be photographing such cute little kids with fabulous parents, but that I would also make some great friends in the process. THANK YOU for trusting me to capture your precious little ones. Every time I leave my home to meet one of your families at the park, your home, the mall (we take pictures everywhere!), I always know I am going to have a blast.
And, I must say, I have the absolute BEST brides in all of the DFW Metroplex and Miami too! Thank you to all you beautiful ladies and handsome gents (can't leave out the grooms)! Your trust means the world to me and I am grateful to be able to share in such a special moment in your lives.
We all know there is no shortage of photographers in Dallas. Thank you for making Live.Love.Laugh. Photography a part of your life for a bit. Always know that we appreciate you, love capturing your smiles and are thrilled that you continue to share the fleeting moments with us.

The Blue Door Boutique had its grand opening last week and we were there to celebrate. A good friend of our family, JoAnn and her partner Glenda have opened shopping heaven in Historic Downtown Frisco.

Once inside, you will be in awe at all the fabulous finds! From trivets to candle holders to super chic tops and jeans, even a section designed specially for the little ones, this boutique has it all.
I fell in love with the chenille diaper covers and got 2 for 'My Closet Is Your Closet'! If you have little ones, ask me about these because they are available to use during your session. I also scored a cute tee that says Texaslicious. You may be wondering, "Huh?" But, all my kids names start with 'D' and so I call them D-licious. Soooo, the shirt was screaming my name!
